Seattle: Pets v Kids. Pets win 6 to 1

I often hear people joke that folks in Seattle love dogs or cats, but really dislike children. I have seen examples of this from time to time, but mostly assume that's the exception not the rule. As an organizer for the Seattle Twestival, I wanted to see how that regional oddity could affect our efforts to support YouthCare, a group that supports homeless youth. I am posting three nearly identical ads. One each for homeless dogs, cats and kids. I will track click-thru-rates for each ad and report later ion the results. Regardless of which ad brought you here, you should attend the Seattle Twestival for YouthCare.

UPDATE

Seattleites on Facebook prefer pets to kids by a ratio of 6:1. I would say that's shocking, but why bother. Check out the YouthCare site and discover a group in Seattle that really cares for the area's youth.

This was the result of a geotargeted Facebook social ad campaign run on Sept. 9th.

This was originally posted on the Seattle Twestival blog. The event went well and we raised over $6,000 for our Seattle nonprofit, YouthCare. I do believe that we could have raised a lot more if we were supporting homeless pets. It's a strange, strange world.
